Ho wood or shiu wood, is a large tree about 30 meters high with evergreen leaves, yellow flowers and red berries. It is native to China and Japan. Its use in China was reported by the travels of Marco Polo.

This essential oil is HEBBD (Essential Oil Botanically and Biochemically Defined).
